Surface Characterisation

Surface science is the study of the physical & chemical interactions between the surface of 2 phases, regardless of the physical state of the material (gas, liquid, solid). The spectroscopic technique is one of the more famously known techniques which uses light to analyse materials. 

​Surface Characterisation techniques allow researchers to obtain large amounts of information using (i.e. interfacial tension) Although primarily used on biomaterials, surface characterisation techniques have also been used across of other non-organic materials (i.e. batteries).
