Cathodoluminescence (CL) is a non-contact optical technique; emissions of light/photons is obtained by electron excitation through the bombardment of the sample surface with particles or electromagnetic radiation.
CL is a powerful tool for measuring & determining the different classes of materials, (i.e rare earth). It is widely used across different fields such as material science, geology & other optics research that goes into the nanoscale.
